This time, I will be posting about Material Design in English Language Teaching. We will design instructional, practical, interactive, and learner-friendly materials together for the digital natives (the 21st-century learners). And here's why:
The 21st century requires following the technology and acquires a new mindset, especially for the teachers. That is why teachers must obtain 21st-century skills, and evolve their lesson materials into desirable, motivational materials that meet the needs of the learners and the technological ecology.
Learners learn best if learning is a positive and enjoyable experience; as Corder (1967, p. 164) once said: Given motivation, it is inevitable that a human being will learn a second language if he is exposed to the language data. In addition to that, teachers teach best if they enjoy their role and the materials they use. That is also why designing materials with the help of technology is crucial for learning.
